Started as part of an environment protection program of Shan Shui Conservation Center(Beijing)in 2007, Yunnan FROM OUR EYES Rural Documentary And Culture Research Centre (FOE) is a provincial-level private non-enterprise registered with the Yunnan Civil Affairs Department in 2015.

The videos recorded from the local perspective have proven to be powerful tools in promoting ecological protection and sustainable development among rural communities. FOE also provides resources and support to excellent video products for broader distribution. FOE’s goal is to grow into a service and support platform in order to solve social problems systematically and in scale through participatory education.
FOE’s main sources of funding come from project funds from foundations and government agencies, individual and corporate donations, and revenue from video services.
